Happy Father's Day! Love you Dad!

We have the best Dad's! :)

I had the best Father's Day weekend with my Dad! Back in April, I bought Shawn and I tickets with our friends Sarah and Brad to the Cardinals Royals game in St. Louis for the Saturday of Father's Day weekend. Shawn ended up having a bachelor party come up in Kansas City, so I decided to take my Dad to the Cards game. My entire family is huge Cardinals fans, so what better way to celebrate having the best Dad and spending time with each other? My brother is in town for a few weeks too, so we actually just decided to make it a good ol' mini family vacation - McDowell style! I got Mom and Travis tickets to the game too so we could all go. We went up to St. Louis on Saturday morning. I got to catch up with one of my best friends Amanda Barrale (A-Tay) and do some shopping. Before the game, Mom, Dad, Travis and I met up with Sarah and Brad, our friends that we were originally going to the game with. We hung out at Mike Shannon's right by the stadium for a few drinks. The game ended up being really exciting! Me, Dad, Sarah, and Brad had our tickets next to each other, and Mom and Travis sat together. We had a really awesome time! The Cards ended up pulling out a win, breaking us from our seven game losing streak! I had so much fun hanging out with my Dad! :) We also got to meet up with another one of my friends, Sara, from University of Phoenix. It was so great to see her and catch up!

Happy Father's Day to the best Dad Travis and I could have ever asked for. We are so greatly blessed for our Dad. He has taught us more in our lifetime than you can imagine and continues to daily. He has helped instill in us the hard work ethic and values that we have today. Dad, because of who you are and what you've done for us, (you too Mom :) ) we are who we are. We hope we make you proud!

Happy Father's Day Dad! 

On our way home on Sunday, I spent some time thinking about Vaughn. Vaughn is definitely the best second father I could have ever asked for. Shawn and I both have such great relationships with both of our parents, and with Vaughn being gone, it definitely makes these holidays difficult and very different than they used to be. Although Vaughn's not with us on this earth, he's always with us in spirit, and we still celebrate him. He will always be Shawn's Dad, and will always be my father-in-law, who I view just like a Dad.
